Description

There’s nothing more comforting than warm, cheesy bites filled with tender chicken and the rich aroma of garlic. Cheesy Garlic Chicken Pinwheels are perfect for a quick weeknight dinner, casual family gatherings, or a fun snack for friends. Inspired by classic garlic bread twists, these pinwheels combine creamy cheese, juicy chicken, and herbs wrapped in soft dough for a meal that’s ready in just 30 minutes. They’re easy to make, flavorful, and sure to become a favorite in your household.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or chopped

  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry or pizza dough, thawed

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter for brushing

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • In a medium bowl, mix the shredded chicken, mozzarella, cream cheese, Parmesan, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  • Roll the dough on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle approximately 12×10 inches.

  • Spread the chicken and cheese mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border on one edge.

  • Roll the dough from the long edge to form a tight log. Pinch the seams and ends to seal.

  • Slice the log into 1-inch thick pinwheels and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each slice.

  • Brush the tops lightly with olive oil or melted butter.

  • Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

  • Allow to cool for 2–3 minutes before serving. Garnish with extra parsley if desired.

Notes

Use fresh herbs for a brighter flavor. Do not overfill the dough to prevent cheese from spilling. Puff pastry gives a crispier texture, while pizza dough results in a softer, bread-like bite.
