Description

A generous tray of crispy tortilla chips layered with seasoned beef, melted cheese, and fresh toppings, perfect for sharing on any occasion.


Ingredients

  • Tortilla chips – 400 g (14 oz)

  • Ground beef – 450 g (1 lb)

  • Olive oil – 1 tablespoon

  • Onion, chopped – 1 medium

  • Garlic, minced – 3 cloves

  • Ground cumin – 1 teaspoon

  • Paprika – 1 teaspoon

  • Chili powder – 1 teaspoon

  • Salt – 1 teaspoon

  • Black pepper – ½ teaspoon

  • Tomato paste – 2 tablespoons

  • Water – 60 ml (¼ cup)

  • Cheddar cheese, shredded – 300 g (3 cups)

  • Mozzarella cheese, shredded – 200 g (2 cups)

  • Black beans – 240 g (1 cup)

  • Corn – 150 g (1 cup)

  • Tomatoes, diced – 200 g (1½ cups)

  • Jalapeños, sliced – 60 g (¼ cup)

  • Green onions – 4 stalks

  • Fresh cilantro – 20 g (½ cup)

  • Sour cream – 240 g (1 cup)

  • Guacamole – 1 cup


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).

  • Cook onion in olive oil until soft, then add garlic.

  • Brown ground beef and season with spices, salt, and pepper.

  • Stir in tomato paste and water; simmer briefly.

  • Layer half the chips, beef, beans, corn, and cheese on a baking tray.

  • Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.

  • Bake for 12–15 minutes until cheese is melted.

  • Top with tomatoes, jalapeños, green onions, and cilantro.

  • Serve immediately with sour cream and guacamole.

Notes

For best results, serve immediately after baking and keep fresh toppings and sauces on the side until ready to eat.
