A cozy, creamy, tomato-based orzo dish with seasoned beef, perfect for weeknights and family meals.
Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 medium onion, finely diced (about 1 cup)

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 pound (450 g) ground beef

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 1/4 cups (250 g) dry orzo pasta

2 cups (480 ml) low-sodium broth (vegetable or beef)

1 1/2 cups (360 ml) tomato sauce

1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream

1/2 cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions

Heat olive oil in a skillet and sauté the onion for 3–4 minutes. Add garlic and cook briefly.

Add the ground beef, breaking it apart and cooking until browned. Season with oregano, basil, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Stir in the dry orzo for 1 minute, then add broth and tomato sauce. Bring to a simmer.

Cover and cook on medium-low for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add heavy cream and Parmesan, stirring until creamy.

Adjust seasoning and garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes
For a thinner sauce, add additional broth. Vegetables such as spinach or mushrooms make great additions.
