Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (6–7 ounces each)

2 cups pretzels, finely crushed

For the Cheddar Sauce

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1½ cups whole milk

2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, freshly grated

½ teaspoon garlic powder

¼ teaspoon ground mustard

¼ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions

Pat the chicken breasts dry and pound to even thickness if needed.

Set up three bowls: one with seasoned flour, one with eggs and Dijon mustard, and one with crushed pretzels.

Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip into egg mixture, then coat with pretzels.

Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook chicken for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.

In a saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour, then slowly add milk while stirring.
