Description

A crispy, tangy snack made easily in the air fryer, perfect for sharing or enjoying as a quick appetizer.

Ingredients

  • Dill pickle chips – 2 cups (about 16 oz / 450 g), drained and patted dry

  • All-purpose flour – 1/2 cup (60 g)

  • Eggs – 2 large

  • Milk – 1/4 cup (60 ml)

  • Breadcrumbs (panko) – 1 cup (50 g)

  • Cornmeal – 1/2 cup (80 g)

  • Garlic powder – 1 teaspoon

  • Onion powder – 1 teaspoon

  • Paprika – 1 teaspoon

  • Salt – 1/2 teaspoon

  • Black pepper – 1/2 teaspoon

  • Cooking spray or neutral oil spray – as needed

Instructions

  • Drain the pickle chips and pat them completely dry with paper towels.

  • Place the flour in one bowl. In a second bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. In a third bowl, mix breadcrumbs, cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

  • Coat each pickle chip in flour, dip into the egg mixture, then press into the breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes. Lightly spray the basket with cooking spray.

  • Arrange the breaded pickles in a single layer in the basket and spray the tops lightly with oil.

  • Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.

  • Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

For the best results, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket and always serve the pickles fresh for maximum crunch. Adjust seasonings to taste if you prefer a spicier or more savory coating.
