Ingredients

Scale

For the Garlic Bread Bowls:
4 large bakery sandwich rolls or round bread loaves
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (or 1 teaspoon dried parsley)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

For the Spaghetti:
12 ounces spaghetti
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion, finely diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound ground beef or turkey
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
3 cups marinara sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the tops off each roll and hollow out the centers, leaving thick bread walls.

  • Mix melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper. Brush inside the bowls and sprinkle Parmesan throughout.

  • Place bowls on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes to lightly crisp.

  • Cook spaghetti in boiling water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet, add onion, and cook until softened. Stir in garlic, then add ground beef or turkey and cook until browned. Drain excess grease if needed.

  • Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 8 minutes.

  • Combine cooked spaghetti with the sauce, tossing to coat evenly.

  • Fill each bread bowl generously with spaghetti and top with mozzarella cheese.

  • Bake again for 8–10 minutes until cheese is melted and golden.

  • Let cool for 2 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use sturdy bread rolls like French or sourdough so they hold up well when filled.
To prevent soggy bowls, ensure sauce is not too watery and avoid assembling too early.
Swap in your favorite pasta shape or add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for variety.
Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days and reheated in the oven to maintain crispiness.
