Description

A creamy, low-carb casserole made with ground turkey, spinach, and a rich homemade sauce—perfect for a comforting and wholesome meal.


Ingredients

1 lb (450 g) ground turkey

1 tablespoon olive oil (15 ml)

1 medium onion, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

5 cups fresh spinach (150 g)

1 teaspoon salt (5 g)

½ teaspoon black pepper (2 g)

1 teaspoon paprika (5 g)

½ teaspoon oregano (2 g)

2 tablespoons butter (30 g)

2 tablespoons flour (16 g)

2 cups milk (480 ml)

½ cup cream (120 ml)

1 cup mozzarella cheese (100 g)

½ cup cheddar cheese (50 g)


Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a casserole dish.

Sauté onion in olive oil, then add garlic and cook briefly.

Add ground turkey, cook until browned, and season.

Stir in spinach and cook until wilted.

In another pan, melt butter, whisk in flour, then slowly add milk.

Add cream and cook until thickened.

Stir in cheeses until melted.

Combine turkey mixture with sauce.

Transfer to casserole dish and top with extra cheese if desired.

Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbly.

Notes

Drain spinach well to avoid excess moisture

Add vegetables like zucchini or mushrooms for variety

Let rest before serving for best texture
