Description

A flavorful and nutritious side dish featuring roasted sweet potatoes coated in a smoky, slightly sweet BBQ-inspired glaze.


Ingredients

3 medium sweet potatoes (about 900 g), peeled and cubed

2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml)

1 teaspoon smoked paprika (5 g)

1 teaspoon garlic powder (5 g)

1 teaspoon onion powder (5 g)

½ teaspoon ground cumin (2.5 g)

½ teaspoon chili powder (2.5 g)

½ teaspoon salt (2.5 g)

¼ teaspoon black pepper (1 g)

1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (15 ml)

1 tablespoon tomato paste (15 g)

1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar (5 ml)

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).

Peel and cube sweet potatoes evenly.

Mix olive oil and spices in a bowl.

Toss sweet potatoes in seasoning mixture.

Combine honey, tomato paste, and vinegar; coat potatoes.

Spread on a lined baking sheet in a single layer.

Roast for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Garnish and serve warm.

Notes

Cut evenly for consistent cooking

For crispier texture, avoid overcrowding

Adjust spices to taste

Can be made vegan using maple syrup
