Description

A rich and comforting chicken dish featuring tender golden-seared chicken breasts simmered in a silky garlic Parmesan cream sauce, perfect for family dinners or special occasions.


Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 2 pounds / 900 g)
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
3 tablespoons olive oil (45 ml)
2 tablespoons unsalted butter (30 g)
8 cloves garlic, minced
1 small yellow onion, finely diced (about 1 cup / 150 g)
1 ½ cups heavy cream (360 ml)
1 cup chicken broth (240 ml)
½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese (50 g)
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon dried thyme
1 tablespoon cornstarch (8 g) mixed with 2 tablespoons water (30 ml), optional
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (8 g)


Instructions

Season chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika.

Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook chicken 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onion for 3–4 minutes. Add garlic and cook 30–45 seconds.

Pour in chicken broth and simmer 2–3 minutes.

Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and thyme. Simmer 5–7 minutes.

Add cornstarch slurry if thicker sauce is desired.

Return chicken to skillet and simmer 5 minutes.

Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

Use freshly grated Parmesan for smoother melting.
Simmer gently to prevent sauce separation.
Store leftovers refrigerated for up to 3 days.
Reheat slowly with a splash of broth or cream to maintain silky texture.
