These Homemade Crispy Parmesan Zucchini Fries are a crunchy, flavorful snack or side dish perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re hosting friends, enjoying a cozy evening at home, or looking for a healthy alternative to traditional fries, these zucchini fries deliver golden, cheesy perfection with every bite. Inspired by fresh summer zucchini from the garden, this recipe transforms simple ingredients into a satisfying, shareable dish that everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 medium zucchinis, washed and cut into fries

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 large eggs, beaten

  • 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs (panko recommended)

  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Cooking spray or olive oil for baking

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

  • Cut zucchinis into sticks about 3 inches long and 1/2 inch thick, then pat dry to remove excess moisture.

  • Set up a breading station with three bowls: flour, beaten eggs, and a mixture of breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.

  • Dredge each zucchini stick in flour, dip into the egg, then coat with the breadcrumb-Parmesan mixture, pressing gently to adhere.

  • Arrange coated zucchini fries on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer, lightly spraying or drizzling with olive oil.

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until fries are golden brown and crispy.

  • Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Pat zucchini dry to ensure the coating sticks and fries crisp properly.

  • Use panko breadcrumbs for maximum crunch.

  • Serve immediately for best texture; leftovers can be reheated in the oven.

  • Optional: sprinkle with fresh parsley or basil before serving for extra flavor.
