Insanely Good Mac and Cheese Meatloaf Casserole Everyone Craves!A comforting, layered casserole featuring a savory meatloaf base topped with creamy mac and cheese for the ultimate crowd-pleasing dinner.


Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground beef

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 medium onion, finely diced

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1/3 cup milk

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1/3 cup ketchup

  • 12 oz elbow macaroni

  • 4 tbsp butter

  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 3 cups milk

  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 tsp mustard powder

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar (optional topping)

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional topping)


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  • Press into a greased 9×13 dish and spread ketchup on top. Bake 25 minutes.

  • Cook macaroni and set aside.

  • Make cheese sauce by melting butter, whisking in flour, adding milk, then cheeses and seasonings.

  • Combine sauce with macaroni.

  • Spread mac and cheese over meatloaf.

  • Add optional toppings. Bake 20–25 minutes more.

  • Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For extra creaminess, add a splash more milk to the cheese sauce. The casserole reheats well and freezes nicely in portions.
