Ingredients

Cooked brown or green lentils – 2 cups

Rolled oats – 1 cup

Finely chopped onion – ½ cup

Minced garlic – 2 cloves

Ground cumin – 1 teaspoon

Salt – 1 teaspoon
Instructions

Add the cooked, well-drained lentils to a large bowl and mash about half of them.

Stir in the rolled oats, chopped onion, minced garlic, ground cumin, and salt until well combined.

Shape the mixture into evenly sized burger patties.

Cook on a nonstick skillet over medium heat for 4–5 minutes per side, or bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway.

Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Be sure to drain lentils thoroughly to ensure the patties hold together well. Letting the mixture rest before shaping helps improve texture and firmness.
