Ingredients

Scale
  • 340 g (12 oz) pasta

  • 450 g (1 lb) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 240 ml (1 cup) heavy cream

  • 120 ml (1/2 cup) chicken broth

  • 50 g (1/2 cup) grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  • Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 120 ml (1/2 cup) pasta water, then drain.

  • Season shrimp with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook shrimp 2–3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.

  • Melt butter in the same skillet, add garlic, and sauté briefly.

  • Add chicken broth and simmer for 2 minutes.

  • Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Simmer until slightly thickened.

  • Return shrimp and pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat. Add pasta water if needed.

  • Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for best results.

  • Do not overcook the shrimp to keep them tender.

  • Serve immediately for the creamiest texture.
