Tender shrimp are cooked in a rich, garlicky cream sauce that comes together in under 30 minutes, making it fast, flavorful, and irresistible. Serve over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread for a complete meal everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale
    • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

    • 2 tablespoons olive oil

    • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

    • 6 cloves garlic, minced

    • 1 teaspoon paprika

    • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

    • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

    • 1 cup heavy cream

    • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

    • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

    • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

    • Cooked pasta, rice, or crusty bread, for serving

Instructions

    • Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry. Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika.

    • Heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from skillet.

    • Reduce heat to medium and add remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Stir in garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

    • Pour in heavy cream and stir to combine. Simmer for 2–3 minutes, then whisk in Parmesan until smooth. Season with additional salt and pepper.

    • Return shrimp to skillet and toss in the sauce. Simmer 1–2 minutes to combine flavors.

    • Remove from heat, stir in lemon juice and parsley.

    • Serve immediately over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.

Notes

    • Use large or jumbo shrimp for best results; smaller shrimp can overcook easily.

    • Adjust creaminess by using less cream or substituting half with milk.

    • Add extra crushed red pepper flakes or cayenne for a spicier version.

    • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; reheat gently to prevent sauce from separating.
