Description

A comforting, creamy pasta dish made with tomatoes, garlic, and cream, perfect for quick yet satisfying meals.


Ingredients

  • Pasta – 400 g (14 oz)

  • Olive oil – 2 tablespoons

  • Butter – 2 tablespoons

  • Garlic – 6 cloves, minced

  • Tomato passata or crushed tomatoes – 400 g (14 oz)

  • Tomato paste – 2 tablespoons

  • Heavy cream – 240 ml (1 cup)

  • Salt – 1 teaspoon

  • Black pepper – ½ teaspoon

  • Dried basil – 1 teaspoon

  • Dried oregano – 1 teaspoon

  • Red chili flakes – ÂĽ teaspoon (optional)

  • Fresh basil – 10 g (½ cup), chopped

  • Grated cheese – 60 g (½ cup), optional


Instructions

  • Cook pasta in salted water until al dente; reserve 120 ml (½ cup) pasta water and drain.

  • Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sautĂ© briefly.

  • Stir in tomato passata and tomato paste; season and simmer for 8–10 minutes.

  • Lower heat and add cream, stirring until smooth.

  • Add pasta and toss to coat, using pasta water as needed.

  • Finish with fresh basil and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, reheat gently and adjust consistency with a splash of cream or pasta water.
