A comforting, creamy one pan dinner featuring tender shrimp, savory Parmesan, and perfectly cooked orzo, ideal for busy evenings.


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup uncooked orzo pasta (200 g)

  • 2½ cups vegetable or chicken broth

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (50 g)

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley


Instructions

  • Season shrimp with salt, pepper, and paprika.

  • Heat oil and butter in a skillet and sear shrimp briefly. Remove and set aside.

  • Sauté garlic, then toast orzo for 1–2 minutes.

  • Add broth and simmer until orzo is tender.

  • Stir in Parmesan and lemon juice.

  • Return shrimp to pan and cook until heated through.

  • Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

For a creamier texture, add extra broth before serving. Adjust seasoning to taste and garnish with additional Parmesan if desired.
