Description

There’s something undeniably comforting about a warm, creamy chocolate dessert that fills the kitchen with rich, decadent aromas. Slow Cooker Chocolate Bliss is perfect for cozy evenings at home, relaxed weekends, or casual gatherings with family and friends. The slow cooker allows the chocolate to melt gradually, creating a velvety texture that feels indulgent yet effortlessly homemade.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • A pinch of salt

  • Whipped cream, for serving (optional)

  • Shaved chocolate or cocoa powder, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Spray the inside of a 4- or 6-quart slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt until fully combined.

  • Pour the milk and heavy cream into the slow cooker. Gradually add the dry ingredients while whisking continuously to prevent lumps.

  • Stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.

  • Cover and cook on low for 2–3 hours, stirring every 30–45 minutes. Avoid high heat to prevent scorching.

  • Once thickened, remove the lid and stir in the vanilla extract.

  • Check the consistency; add a splash of milk if too thick or cook a bit longer if too thin.

  • Serve warm in bowls, topped with whipped cream and shaved chocolate or a dusting of cocoa powder if desired.

Notes

  • You can prepare the mixture in advance and store it in the refrigerator until ready to cook.

  • Leftovers can be kept in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat gently before serving.

  • For a vegan version, substitute plant-based milk and chocolate.

  • Add instant coffee or a pinch of cinnamon for extra flavor.

  • Blend with an immersion blender for an even smoother texture.

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Cook Time: 2–3 hours
