Description

This smoky air fryer grilled chicken delivers bold, grilled flavor with juicy results using simple pantry spices and an easy indoor method.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs or chicken breasts

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • ¾ teaspoon fine sea salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano

  • ½ teaspoon brown sugar

Instructions

  • Pat chicken dry and place in a bowl.

  • Mix all spices together in a separate bowl.

  • Drizzle chicken with olive oil and coat evenly.

  • Rub spice mixture over chicken thoroughly.

  • Preheat air fryer to 380°F (193°C).

  • Arrange chicken in a single layer in the basket.

  • Cook for 10 minutes, flip, and cook another 8–10 minutes.

  • Remove when internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

  • Rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket and allow the chicken to rest before slicing. Smoked paprika is essential for achieving the signature grilled flavor indoors.
