  • 3 cups Corn Chex

  • 3 cups Wheat Chex

  • 2 cups small pretzels

  • 1 cup roasted peanuts

  • 1 cup mixed nuts (optional)

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1/4 cup chipotle hot sauce

  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine Rice Chex, Corn Chex, Wheat Chex, pretzels, and peanuts. Add mixed nuts if using. Toss gently.

  • Melt butter in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl. Stir in chipotle hot sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

  • Pour the chipotle butter mixture over the cereal and nut mixture. Toss gently to coat evenly.

  • Spread mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet.

  • Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even coating and prevent burning.

  • Remove from oven and allow to cool completely on the baking sheet.

  • Transfer to an airtight container or serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust cayenne pepper and chipotle hot sauce to control spice level.

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.

  • Substitute peanuts with almonds, cashews, or pecans for a different flavor.
