Description

A comforting slow-cooked beef dish featuring incredibly tender steak bites simmered in a rich, savory sauce that’s perfect for family dinners or cozy evenings.

Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin or chuck steak – 2 pounds, cut into 1½-inch cubes

  • Olive oil – 2 tablespoons

  • Onion – 1 large, finely chopped

  • Garlic cloves – 4 cloves, minced

  • Beef broth – 1½ cups

  • Low-sodium soy sauce – â…“ cup

  • Worcestershire sauce – 2 tablespoons

  • Tomato paste – 2 tablespoons

  • Brown sugar – 1 tablespoon

  • Paprika – 1 teaspoon

  • Onion powder – 1 teaspoon

  • Black pepper – ¾ teaspoon

  • Salt – ½ teaspoon

  • Cornstarch – 2 tablespoons

  • Cold water – 2 tablespoons

  • Fresh parsley – optional garnish

Instructions

  • Cut the steak into evenly sized cubes and pat dry.

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear steak cubes on all sides. Transfer to the crockpot.

  • In the same skillet, sauté onion until soft, then add garlic.

  • Stir in beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, brown sugar, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer briefly.

  • Pour sauce over steak in the crockpot and stir gently.

  • Cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours until tender.

  • Mix cornstarch with cold water and stir into the crockpot during the last 30 minutes to thicken the sauce.

  • Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

For the most tender results, avoid lifting the lid during cooking. If the sauce becomes too thick, stir in a small amount of warm beef broth before serving.
