Ingredients

Beef flank steak or sirloin, 450 g (1 lb), thinly sliced

Broccoli florets, 400 g (about 4 cups)

Garlic, 4 cloves, minced

Fresh ginger, 1 tablespoon, grated

Neutral cooking oil, 2 tablespoons

Low-sodium soy sauce, 80 ml (1/3 cup)

Oyster-style sauce, 2 tablespoons

Brown sugar, 2 tablespoons

Cornstarch, 1 tablespoon

Water, 120 ml (1/2 cup)

Sesame oil, 1 teaspoon
Instructions

Whisk soy sauce, oyster-style sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, water, and sesame oil in a bowl.

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook beef for 2–3 minutes, then remove.

Add remaining oil, garlic, and ginger to the pan. Cook briefly until fragrant.

Add broccoli and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes.

Return beef to the pan and add sauce. Stir and cook until thickened.

Serve hot over rice or noodles.
Notes
Slice the beef thinly against the grain for the most tender texture. Adjust sauce seasoning to taste and serve immediately for best results.
