Ingredients

1 pound (450 g) ground beef

4 cups (280 g) broccoli florets

1 medium onion, diced (about 1 cup / 130 g)

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon (15 ml) sesame oil or neutral oil

1/4 cup (60 ml) low-sodium soy sauce

1/4 cup (60 ml) beef broth

2 tablespoons (30 g) brown sugar

1 tablespoon (8 g) cornstarch

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Red pepper flakes to taste (optional)
Instructions

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned.

Stir in onion and cook 3 minutes. Add garlic and sauté 1 minute.

Add broccoli and pour in beef broth. Cover and simmer 4–5 minutes.

Whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and pepper. Add to skillet.

Simmer 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens.

Adjust seasoning and serve hot.
Notes
Store leftovers in airtight containers for up to 4 days. Add a splash of broth when reheating if needed.
