Description

A fast, flavorful skillet dinner featuring savory ground beef, tender broccoli, and a simple homemade sauce — perfect for busy weeknights or meal prep.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound (450 g) ground beef

  • 4 cups (280 g) broccoli florets

  • 1 medium onion, diced (about 1 cup / 130 g)

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sesame oil or neutral oil

  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) low-sodium soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) beef broth

  • 2 tablespoons (30 g) brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon (8 g) cornstarch

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • Red pepper flakes to taste (optional)


Instructions

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned.

  • Stir in onion and cook 3 minutes. Add garlic and sauté 1 minute.

  • Add broccoli and pour in beef broth. Cover and simmer 4–5 minutes.

  • Whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and pepper. Add to skillet.

  • Simmer 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens.

  • Adjust seasoning and serve hot.

Notes

Store leftovers in airtight containers for up to 4 days. Add a splash of broth when reheating if needed.
