Ingredients

Scale
  • 900 g (2 lb) boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts

  • 120 ml (1/2 cup) honey

  • 80 ml (1/3 cup) low-sodium soy sauce

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) ketchup

  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  • 2 tablespoons water


Instructions

  • In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, ketchup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and black pepper.

  • Place chicken in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over it.

  • Cook on low for 4–5 hours or high for 2–3 hours.

  • Mix cornstarch and water, stir into the sauce, and cook on high for 15–20 minutes until thickened.

  • Serve warm with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey to taste.

  • Leftovers store well in the refrigerator for up to four days.
