Description
A rich, creamy pasta dish with savory ground beef, garlic, Parmesan, and tomato sauce. Ready in 30 minutes for a hearty, family-friendly meal.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20)
12 oz penne or rigatoni pasta
2 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (24 oz) crushed tomatoes
1 cup beef broth
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp dried basil
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Add pasta and cook 8-10 minutes until al dente. Reserve 1 cup pasta water.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Brown ground beef over medium heat, breaking into small pieces.
Add chopped onion and sauté until softened. Stir in minced garlic and cook 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Pour in crushed tomatoes, beef broth, Italian seasoning, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer 10-12 minutes until slightly thickened.
Stir in heavy cream and butter. Add cooked pasta and Parmesan cheese to the skillet. Toss to coat, adding pasta water as needed to loosen sauce.
Cook 2-3 minutes until pasta is fully coated and heated through.
Notes
Use ground turkey/eggplant for a meat-free version
Add a splash of non-dairy milk if avoiding cream
Skillet works best; avoid overcooking garlic
