Description
A rich, tender chicken dish with a garlicky, creamy mushroom sauce. This slow-cooked comfort food requires minimal effort and transitions effortlessly from weekday dinners to weekend feasts.
Ingredients
2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
10.5 oz can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup chicken broth
8–10 cloves minced garlic
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt and black pepper (to taste)
8 oz cream cheese (optional, cubed)
1/2 cup heavy cream (optional)
Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
Spoon cream of mushroom soup over the chicken.
In a bowl, mix minced garlic, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Pour the mixture over the chicken.
Cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours.
If using, stir in cream cheese and heavy cream during the final 1 hour of cooking.
Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Serve with cooked pasta or mashed potatoes as a base.
Notes
Use chicken thighs for a juicier alternative. For a lighter sauce, reduce cream cheese and heavy cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
