Description
Tender, slow-cooked boneless skinless chicken breasts bathed in a rich, tangy non-alcoholic BBQ sauce. A fuss-free recipe that infuses flavor on low heat for 6-8 hours, perfect for hearty sandwiches, tacos, or protein-packed meals.
Ingredients
4 to 5 chicken breasts (boneless, skinless)
2½ to 3 cups non-alcoholic BBQ sauce (adjust to taste)
1 cup chicken broth
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon ground cumin
Instructions
Add chicken breasts to the crockpot
Season with black pepper, paprika, and cumin
Pour chicken broth over the chicken, leaving space at the top
Mix in minced garlic and honey
Stir in 2 cups BBQ sauce (save remaining sauce for later use)
Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, or high for 3 to 4 hours
Remove chicken once tender, shred into bite-sized pieces, and return to crockpot
Mix in remaining BBQ sauce and heat for 10-15 minutes
Serve hot as is or on buns, vegetables, or starches
Notes
Substitute chicken thighs with 1 extra cup broth for moister results
Use low-sugar BBQ sauce for lighter flavor
Freeze leftovers in airtight containers for up to 3 months
Baste with final sauce mixture for optimal wetness and doneness before serving
